This policy explains who can request cancellation, the specific time window when cancellation is possible, the procedure for submission, and the processing of refunds. This policy operates in harmony with Gnarape’s Shipping Policy, Returns & Refunds, and Warranty pages (all financial amounts displayed and refunded are managed in USD).
1. Cancellation Window
You may request the cancellation of your order within a 24-hour period following checkout and before the item is handed over to the shipping carrier.
- In-Stock Focus: Since our decorative wall maps are typically kept in stock and ready to ship, the preparation process can commence very quickly (e.g., picking, packaging, labeling). Once the item is physically picked, labeled, or scanned for carrier handover, cancellation is no longer available as logistics resources have been committed.
- Orders that have been picked up by the parcel carrier or (for international shipments) have cleared export customs cannot be canceled under this policy.
- If the 24-hour window has elapsed or the preparation process is underway, you may still utilize the Returns & Refunds policy after delivery, provided the item meets the return eligibility criteria.
- Order Modifications: Changes to an order (such as updating the address, altering the product model, size, or finish) are functionally treated as a cancellation and placement of a new order. Most changes are only feasible within the same 24-hour window and before the item is picked. Later changes may be unavailable or could incur additional costs already expended (e.g., re-boxing, re-labeling, or re-routing).
2. How to Submit a Cancellation Request
- Email: You must email [email protected] within the 24-hour period immediately following checkout. Please include your Order ID, the email address or phone number used at checkout, and an optional brief explanation for the cancellation to assist Gnarape in improving our service.
- Subject Line: To ensure your request is prioritized quickly, please use the subject line: Cancel Order #[your order number].
- Confirmation: Gnarape will respond via email to confirm whether your order remains eligible for cancellation. For the protection of your account security, Gnarape may require a quick identity or address verification check.
- Alternative Submission: While we prioritize email, you may also submit a request through the contact form at the bottom of this page; however, email remains the fastest and most reliable method to formally secure your request within the crucial 24-hour window.
3. Refunds for Approved Cancellations
- Amount: If your cancellation request is approved, Gnarape will issue a full refund in USD to the original method of payment used for the purchase.
- Currency: Refunds are processed entirely in USD. If your bank or PayPal account utilizes a different currency, your provider will apply its own exchange rate and any associated fees. Any minor differences observed upon receiving the refund reflect these external exchange rates and issuer fees, not charges deducted by Gnarape.
- Timing: Gnarape initiates the refund process within 7 business days of officially confirming the cancellation. Banks and payment providers typically require an additional 3–7 business days to post the funds to your account; PayPal eCheck/bank transfers may require 5–10 business days to fully clear. An email confirmation will be sent to you when the refund process has commenced.
- Authorization Holds: Any temporary authorization hold placed by your card issuer will be removed or converted into the refund by your bank after the processing is complete.
- Coupons / Store Credit: Any portion of the payment made using a coupon or store credit will be re-applied or restored where technically possible; expired promotional coupons cannot be reissued unless explicitly mandated by law.
4. Actions After the 24-Hour Period
After the initial 24 hours have passed, or once the item preparation, carrier pickup, or export customs clearance has occurred, cancellation is generally no longer available. You retain the option to utilize the standard Returns & Refunds policy after the map has been delivered, provided the item is eligible.
- Post-Window Exceptions: If an exception is approved after the cancellation window has closed (e.g., if an in-stock map is still physically located in the warehouse), Gnarape may deduct actual costs already incurred (such as picking/packing fees, labeling charges, or restocking handling fees) to maintain fair and sustainable pricing for all customers.
- Cancellations Initiated by Gnarape: If Gnarape must cancel an order (due to an unforeseen quality-control issue, missing components, or an uncleared fraud-prevention flag), a full refund in USD will be immediately issued, and alternative options for replacement or re-make will be offered whenever feasible.
5. Shipping & Delivery Notes
Our wall maps are primarily shipped using Standard Parcel Service (such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS).
- If a cancellation request arrives after the parcel carrier has processed the pickup manifest or completed the physical collection, cancellation is not available under this policy.
- Missed delivery appointments, last-minute address changes requested after shipment, or special handling requests may involve carrier fees that cannot be waived once service is booked.
- Upon delivery, inspect the package thoroughly before signing or accepting. If any exterior damage is visible, record the issue on the delivery paperwork, immediately take photographic evidence, and contact Gnarape within 48 hours to initiate a claim and arrange for replacement parts or a full replacement map. Retain all original packaging materials until the next steps are officially confirmed.
6. Your Rights & Local Law
Nothing within this policy is intended to limit or override your mandatory statutory consumer rights. Where local law grants you additional rights (e.g., the EU/UK withdrawal rights for eligible non-custom goods), those rights shall apply as required. If any specific section of this policy conflicts with an unavoidable mandatory consumer rule in your country, that mandatory rule shall take precedence, and Gnarape will comply fully.
